The Journey Inspired by James
James is the reason I chose to walk the path of a Certified Grief Coach. His tragic loss deeply impacted our family, and the outpouring of support from our community felt like a message from him saying, "Mom, it's your turn to help others now." Through my spirituality, I found a new connection with him; I feel him around me, always. His presence drives me to pursue what I love: helping people. There's no better way to honour his memory.
Remembering James: His Passion and Legacy
James had an immense love for lacrosse. After his passing, UPEI graciously gave us his uniform, a cherished reminder of his passion. In his honour, they established the James Thomson Memorial Award and a bursary to support future athletes. Lacrosse PEI also organizes the annual Marsh Madness Memorial Tournament, a beautiful tribute in loving memory of James Thomson. He deeply loved his family and held his younger brother, Justin, in high regard.
